Lamar Robillard

Lamar Robillard is a Brooklyn based multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and educator whose work examines resistance, visibility, and spirituality as it relates to black materials and the Unfavoured American experience. Lamar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in sociology from CUNY, and a MFA in Art Practice from The School of Visual Arts. A major theme in Lamar’s work is the use of “black things” and found objects. Lamar’s work has been shown at Art Port Kingston, Bed-Stuy Art House, Welcome to Hausen Gallery, and Art Helix Gallery. Lamar has been featured on publications such as Office Magazine, Gothamist, and Art Port Kingston. Lamar will be featured in a group exhibition at Swivel Gallery entitled Hereditary opening December 21st, following Hereditary Lamar’s first Solo Exhibition is scheduled to open November 2022 at Swivel Gallery.
